Ironing Card Sleeves

Categories: [ DIY ]

After successfully resizing a card sleeve, I wanted to try something else: card lamination using a card sleeve and an iron (the one you use to get the creases off your clothes). I put a card in a sleeve, put it between two layers of baking paper, set the iron to the “cotton” and ironed it on both sides, on top of a piece of mirror (because it's flat and hard).

Well, it doesn't work. What you get is a card sleeve that has lost its shine and its transparency in some areas and doesn't adhere to the card (actually, it does adhere in some places, but on most of the surface it doesn't, especially on the laser-printed parts).
