St. Peter's Fruit Beer

“wheat beer combined with grapefruit… citrus aftertaste”

The taste of grapefruit is so subtle that, hasn't it been marked on the label, I'd never have guessed what this beer is flavoured with. Otherwise this beer is a bit sweet and only very slightly bitter. Contains wheat and barley.

St. Peter's Brewery, Bungay, Suffolk, England. 4.7% alcohol.

St. Peter's Cream Stout

“Fugles and Challenger hops plus a blend of 4 local barley malts… dark chocolate cream stout… bittersweet aftertaste”

Defintely chocolaty, and with a hint of the strange fruity taste found in the the brewer's Honey Porter beer. Oddly, the aftertaste sometimes (but not systematically) reminds me of a cold ashtray.

St. Peter's Brewery, Bungay, Suffolk, England. 6.5% alcohol.

St Peter's Wheat Beer

“malted wheat and German Hallertau hops. Fermented with a special Belgian yeast to give a European style Wheat Beer”

I'm not sure I would have identified it as a wheat beer, but then again I'm not a specialist. Pretty ordinary, slightly bitter with a metallic taste. Contains barley and wheat.

St. Peter's Brewery, Bungay, Suffolk, England. 4.7% alcohol.

St. Peter's Honey Porter

Categories: [ Beer/FAVOURITES | Beer/St Peters ]

Honey_Porter

“A traditional English porter finished with honey for a truly unique aroma. … Our beautiful flask-shaped oval bottle is a faithful copy of one produced c. 1770 for Thomas Gerrard of Gibbstown, just across the Delaware River from Philadelphia. The original is now kept at St. Peter's Hall and is a rare example of an oval Eighteenth Century beer bottle.”

A surprising smell and taste of raspberry and honey. Very sweet and slightly bitter. Made of wheat and barley, contains honey flavouring.

St. Peter's Brewery, Bungay, Suffolk, England. 4.5% alcohol.
