Slightly metallic smell/taste, and reminds me of the Alsacian beers I don't like (hops, maybe?). Contains barley and wheat.

“Aged in selected oak casks formerly used to mature Highland Park's … 12 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky”

A dark ale, very sweet, with a chocolate aroma and coffee-like bitterness. Contains barley and oats.

“using Hersbrücker Lager hops…grapefruity tastes. Hops: Challenger, Styrian Goldings and Hallertau Hersbrüker.”

Quite flowery and a bit bitter. Quite nice, but not extraordinary. Contains barley and wheat.

Harviestoun Brewery, Alva, Clackmannanshire, Scotland. 4.8 % alcohol.

“brewed with pale and crystal malts with a touch of roast barley. The hop additions are Challenger for bitterness and Styrian for its floral citrus aroma.”

Quite sweet, not too bitter. Not convinced about the floral citrus aroma, I found it had more of a kind of a very fresh red fruit nuance. Contains barley and wheat.

Harviestoun Brewery, Alva, Clackmannanshire, Scotland. 4.5% alcohol.

“… derived from a traditional Celtic recipe. Wickedly smooth chocolate dominates the flavour…”

I wouldn't call that taste “chocolate”, but rather flowery with something of berries? Anyway, it is slightly bitter and quite good.

Harviestoun Brewery, Clackmannanshire, Scotland. 6.0% alcohol.

Harviestoun Brewery's Bitter & Twisted

“Blond in colour, Bitter & Twisted has a superb hop profile, combining the aromatic Hallertau Herbrücker with the spicy Challenger. It's finished by ‘late hopping’

with Styrian Goldings which gives a sharpness like a twist of lemon.”

Quite bitter, but has a smell of peach and a taste that is not unlike bitter orange (rather than lemon IMHO). Contains barley, oats and wheat.

Harviestoun Brewery. Hillfoots Business Village, Alva, Clackmannanshire, Scotland. 4.2 % alcohol.
