As soon as Daniel Ocean's younger sister Debbie is released from jail on parole, she contacts her former partner Lou for a new heist: to steal a diamond necklace that has not left Cartier's vault in fifty years. The plan is to manipulate actress Daphne, who is invited at the MET gala, to hire has-been fashion designer Rose. Rose then demands that she wears the necklace with the dress she designs, which Cartier agrees reluctantly. Debbie 3D-prints a duplicate necklace and introduces her team of eight in the organization of the gala by Vogue and at the MET. Debbie also manipulates Daphne into inviting Claude, the ex-boyfriend who got her arrested, to accompany he to the event. During the evening, Lou, posing as a nutritionist in the kitchens, poisons Daphne's soup, forcing her to rush to the toilet to vomit. Pickpocket Constance then takes the necklace and passes it to jeweler Amita who cuts it into smaller pieces of jewelry. Cartier's security then evacuates the premises to search for the necklace, but gives up as Debbie “finds” the copy. Constance then slips the pieces of jewelry to the team to smuggle out by wearing them, while Debbie plants a piece on Claude. When Cartier discovers the next day that the necklace is a fake, the insurance company sends John to investigate the claim. In the meanwhile, Daphne shows up in Daphne's lair and explain she suspected something was on; as she is bored and has no real female friends, she wants to join the gang. John suspects Debbie to be the thief, but as she had made sure to appear at all times on video-surveillance footage, she has a solid alibi. Debbie hires elderly actresses to sell some of the jewelry and deposit money on Claude's account. She then negotiate with John to give him Claude and part of the necklace; Daphne meets Claude at his place under romantic pretenses, finds the planted diamonds and takes a photo as proof. Claude is arrested the next morning. Debbie also explains that the theft of the necklace was only a distraction and that the evacuation of the museum premises allowed her team to steal the jewels from an exhibition, on loan from several European royal families and replace them with copies.
