Sixième volume des Arcanes du Midi-Minuit publié en 2008. Jim a été arrêté à la fin de l'épisode précédent pour avoir laissé s'échapper une criminelle. En prison il s'accoquine avec un mafieux qui vient d'être transféré et organise son évasion. L'arrestation et l'évasion ont en fait été planifiés dans le but de recueillir des aveux du mafieux et de trouver qui est la taupe au sein du Service du Roi (il s'agit de la secrétaire du Commandeur, ce dernier est innocent même si tout le monde le déteste).

Dix-huitième volume des aventures de Blake et Mortimer publié en 2008 par Sente et Juillard. Mortimer souffre de maux de tête depuis son aventure en Antarctique. Son assistante lui montre un mystérieux anneau trouvé en Afrique, et dont le découvreur est atteint d'une maladie étrange. Mortimer prend contact avec une des ses amies, archéologue et part à la recherche de la grotte où l'anneau a été trouvé. La grotte cache le berceau de l'espèce humaine, système automatisé qui recrée des humains tous les trois-cents millions d'années environ dans l'espoir de créer une espèce qui ne s'autodétruira pas. L'expédition de Mortimer est suivie par un étrange individu qui se révèle être Olrik. Coup de théatre, il s'agit en fait de l'esprit de Mortimer prisonnier du corps d'Olrik, alors que l'esprit d'Olrik est prisonnier du corps de Mortimer, suite à l'aventure en Antartctique où les esprits des deux personnages avaient été séparés de leurs corps et mal réintégrés. Les protagonistes quittent finalement la grotte et oublient tout de leur aventure, tandis qu'Olrik est capturé par Blake pour permettre à Mortimer de réintégrer son propre corps.

Belisarius is a general in the army of the Eastern Roman Empire. In a previous adventure, he was given a living crystal coming from a distant future, Aide, who tries to change the path of history so that his people do not become slaves to a new kind of beings. Aide gives Belisarius visions of the future and together they fight the influence of Link, a representative of the other beings from the future. Link is controling the Malwa, a people from India, who tries to conquer Persia. Although Persia and the Romans (who at that time of history are mostly Greeks) have been enemies in the recent past, the Persians seek an alliance with Rome and especially with Belisarius to repell the Malwa invader. Belisarius and the Persian ambassador then move a Roman-Persian army to Mesopotamia. At the same time, Belisarius' wife Antonina is sent by the Empress Regent of Rome to re-establish Rome's domination over Alexandria. And in India, a rebellion led by the Empress Shakuntala tries to gather followers in order to repell the Malwa from the inside. There are two battles, and at the end, the Malwa are routed out of Persia. But Link already prepares a new invasion.

I can't really say what it tastes like… It's not bitter and has maybe a slight aftertaste of peach/apricot. But it doesn't have this heavy hop (or yeast?) taste that many pale ales have. Made of malt and wheat.

HP ships a trial version of MS Office with Windows Vista Home Basic. If you want a full version, you have to purchase a full licence. The licence comes in a cardboard box (33×22×3.4 cm) sealed with a this-is-a-seal sticker. In the box is a bubble envelope (27.5×20×0.8 cm), sealed with a if-you-open-this-you-accept-the-licence sticker. In the envelope is a cardboard leaflet (19×12.5×0.2 cm) folded in three so as to form a small pouch, sealed with a holographic this-is-an-original-product sticker. In the pouch is a plastic card (8.5×5.4×0.1 cm). On the card is a sticker (4.4x1.5 cm), on which the registration code is printed (25 character in 5 pt font, a Data Matrix and some extra text). The whole package weighs 140 g.

Pirated registration codes can probably be found online, with no extra packaging.

Conclusion: pirated software is more ecological.

Every five thousand years, Evil comes back to Earth in an attempt to destroy it. It is usually repelled by the ultimate weapon, stored in Egypt and made of the four basic elements (earth, water, wind and fire) plus the fifth element. In 1914, the ultimate weapon is taken away from Egypt by the Mondoshawans to be put in a safer place, and would be returned on time to face Evil. But on its way back to Earth in 2263, the spaceship is attacked by Mangalore mercenaries, the four elements are stolen and the fifth is destroyed. Thankfully, a single cell is found and the fifth element is reconstructed, taking the shape of a woman called Leeloo. She escapes from the military and meets Korben Dallas, a taxi driver who used to be an elite commando. Dallas takes her to a priest, member of a secret order who has guarded the ultimate weapon over the millenia. Leeloo reveals that the four elements were not in the destroyed ship, but are with an opera singer, on a luxury cruise ship on planet Fhloston Paradise. The army riggs a contest the grand prize of which is a trip to Fhloston Paradisein order to send Dallas there to retrieve the elements. He goes with Leeloo and the priest. They manage to recover the elements, while the ship is destroyed first by Mangalores sent by Zorg, the emissary of Evil, and then by Zorg himself. The heroes manage to get to Egypt just in time to activate the ultimate weapon and save Earth.

This is daft. An HP 6720s running Windows Vista, connected to a D-Link DES-1005D switch which itself is connected to an A-Link RR64 ADSL router is not able to get an IP address from the DHCP server running on the router. Change the cable, and then it works like a charm. Now use the old cable (it's obviously faulty, isn't it?) on another computer (Dell Latitude 610, running Debian Etch), and it works. Worse, the same HP laptop connected directly to the router with the “faulty” cable works perfectly too.

I'm not sure whom to blame, there: HP, Microsoft, D-Link? Probably all three.

Le roi de Riva est assassiné avec toute sa famille par des envoyés de Salmissra sous l'influence de Zedar. Seul le jeune prince Geran a survécu, et Polgara entreprend de cacher Geran et tous ses descendants jusqu'à la naissance du Tueur de Dieu. Après quelques générations, Torak envahit le Ponant, et Polgara et son père vont arranger les événements de telle sorte que Brand, jouant le rôle de l'Enfant de Lumière affronte Torak en duel et le plonge dans le coma lors de la bataille de Vo Mimbre, conformément aux Prophéties. Polgara reprend son rôle de gardienne de la lignée de Riva, cachant les descendants principalement en Sendarie et en Arendie, les faisant passer pour des habitants normaux, ce qui ne va pas toujours facilement. Lorsque que Chamdar retrouve leur trace, ils déménagent et recommencent ailleurs. Peu de temps avant la naissance de Garion, Polgara est envoyée chez les Nadraks afin de faire se rencontrer le roi Drosta, Yarblek et le roi Rhodar. Puis elle retourne s'occuper de la lignée de Riva. Lorsque Garion nait enfin, ses parents sont tués par Chamdar, mais Garion est sauvé de justesse par Belgarath. Polgara l'emmène alors en Sendarie, à la ferme de Faldor.

In 1969, Martin Brice escaped arrest by chance while hacking with his friend Cosmo various bank accounts and transferring money to various charities. In the present, Martin is hiding from the FBI, has changed his name and is running a security firm that points out the flaws in security systems. He is contacted by two NSA agents to steal a universal cryptographic decoder made by a genius young mathematician. The NSA agents happen not to be working for the NSA after all, but for the organised crime. Cosmo (who didn't die in prison after all) is one of the leaders of the organisation, and he asks Martin to join him and make the world better by causing a major financial crash and making the rich equal to the poor. Martin refuses, and Cosmo changes his former record to make it easier for the FBI to find him, and also frames him in the murder of a Russian diplomat. Martin then tries to contact the NSA and exchange his freedom for the decoder. He and his team go the Cosmo's headquarter, a heavily guarded and protected complex, to retrieve the device. They get caught but manage to escape. They finally get caught by the NSA, but Martin manages to exchange the device and his silence against his and his team's freedom, knowing that the NSA wants the device for spying (illegally) on the US internal communications. But he gives the NSA a non-working device (they don't know it doesn't work) and keeps the core component for himself, using it for transfering money to charities once again.

The crew of the spaceship Palomino finds the lost ship Cygnus near a black hole. They suffer damage from the black hole and manage to dock on the Cygnus, hoping to be able to repair their ship. There is only one human on board the Cygnus, one of the head of the lost expedition, but he is helped by a bunch of robots he made himself (most of the robots are actually brainwashed/robotized crew members from the Cygnus). The crew of the Palomino senses that something is wrong and tries to escape, but the captain of the Cygnus decides to take them with him into the black hole, which he wants to explore. The crew of the Palomino manages to escape before the destruction of the Cygnus, only to fall themselves into the black hole, where they find a surrealistic evocation of Heaven and Hell.

Three beautiful women are the only survivors of the collision between a space cruise liner and an asteroid. They are stranded on the nearest habitable planet, where they are taken prisoner by pirates. Jack Wolff receives a broadcast alert and goes searching for the women, because of the very high reward. On the planet, he meets Nikki, a young girl who helps him in exchange for food, guiding him to the lair of Overdog, a local villain. Soon after, they meet Washington, another bounty hunter and old accointance of Wolff's. After several encounter with mutants and such, they infiltrate Overdog's lair, during local games (where slaves have to survive through a labyrinth full of traps and dangers). Wolff and his team save the women, but Nikki get caught. He finally saves her, kills Overdog and destroys his lair.

Polgara et sa soeur Beldaran naissent alors que Belgarath est parti avec Cherek Garot-d'ours et ses fils reprendre l'orbe à Torak. Poledra leur mère meurt en couches et les deux jumelles sont élevées par Beldin. Autant Beldaran est une enfant exemplaire, autant Polgara fait tout pour se faire détester de son père. Elle est guidée par l'esprit de sa mère qui lui enseigne le contrôle de son pouvoir. À seize ans, Beldaran épouse Riva, et Polgara se métamorphose en jeune fille (presque) exemplaire en l'honneur du mariage de sa soeur. Elle se réconcilie avec son père, qui lui apprend à lire et à étudier, tandis que sa mère en secret continue son enseignement et la guide. Polgara se passionne pour la médecine et devient une experte dans le domaine, mais ses connaissances sont insuffisantes pour sauver sa soeur qui meurt de maladie. Polgara est ensuite chargée par Aldur d'enquêter sur les malversations en Arendie de Murgos déguisés en ambassadeurs Tolnédrains qui tentent de mettre le royaume à feu et à sang. Polgara passe six-cents ans en Arendie à maintenir la paix, et y gagne le duché d'Erat en remerciement. Elle révolutionne la société dans son duché en abolissant le servage, et laisse son duché devenir peu à peu le royaume de Sendarie. Polgara rencontre Ontrose, un de ses « chevalier protecteurs » et en tombe amoureuse. Hélas, Ontrose se fait tuer lors de l'invasion de Wacune par les Asturiens (sous l'influence des Murgos, encore une fois), événement que Polgara ne peut empêcher car il fait partie de ces Événements qui doivent se produire.

Fourty-three years ago, pregnant Rosie Jones killed her husband and his lover, and was sentenced to a secure unit for the criminally insane. Today, Walter Goodfellow the vicar is very busy, and his wife Gloria, desperate for sex, is having an affair with her golf instructor. Soon arrives Grace, the new housekeeper, and things start getting better (the neighbour's dog who used to bark all night long disappears, soon to be followed by the dog's owner… all killed by Grace). In the meanwhile, the vicar is taught by his housekeeper how to be funny again and what are his wife's needs. Later, when the vicar leaves for a conference, his wife plans to leave with her lover (but changes her mind at the last minute thanks to her husband's changed behaviour), while the lover is already dead, killed by the housekeeper who surprised him peeping on the vicar's daughter the night before. The mother and the daughter finally discover the truth about the housekeeper (escaped from her jail), but since she happens to be Gloria's mother, they decide to keep it a secret from the vicar. Grace eventually leaves the house for good.

Melanie Daniels meets Mitch Brenner in a pet shop in San Francisco. She decides to follow him to his home in Bodega Bay. There she and other persons get repeatedly attacked by large flocks of birds, for no apparent reason. After spending the night under attack in Mitch's house, they take advantage of a period of calm to escape and drive to San Franciso.

Polgara a pour tâche de cacher et protéger les descendants de Riva jusqu'à la naissance de Garion. Belgarath la surveille discrètement, tout en surveillant que tout se passe conformément aux prophéties dans les royaumes du Ponant. Un jour, il apprend de Beldin que Torak a rassemblé une armée gigantesque et vient détruire plus que conquérir les royaumes en passant par le Pont de Pierre. Belgarath met l'ancètre de Garion à l'abri dans la forteresse d'Algarie, car selon les prophéties, est est imprenable. Après un long siège, l'armée de Torak lève le camp et se dirige ver Vo Mimbre. Belgarath et Polgara parviennent à convaincre les Tolnédrains de joindre leurs forces aux Aloriens du nord, et Brand, assumant cette fois-ci le rôle de l'Enfant de Lumière affronte finalememt Torak après trois jours de siège de Vo Mimbre. Torak est blessé et plongé dans un profond sommeil, et l'armée de Torak lève le camp. Plus tard, Belgarath découvre l'existence de Chamdar, un Grolim (aussi connu sous le nom d'Asharak), qui veut entrer dans les bonnes grâces de Torak en reprenant l'Orbe et en tuant l'ancêtre de l'Enfant de Lumière. Il parvient à détourner l'attention de Belgarath et Polgara le jour de la naissance de Garion, et tue les parents de ce dernier, mais Belgarath arrive juste à temps pour sauver le bébé, qu'il place ensuite sous la garde de Polgara, à la ferme de Faldor en Sendarie.

Garath est un orphelin. Élevé par le dieu Aldur, il est rebaptisé Belgarath. Au fil des siècles, Aldur va accueillir davantages de disciples (Belzedar, Belkira et Beltira, Belsambar, Belmakor et Beldin). Aldur étudie aussi une pierre mystérieuse, l'Orbe, convoitée par son frère Torak. L'Orbe punit Torak de l'avoir volée, et lorsque Torak tente de s'en servir contre les autres dieux venus assiéger sa capitale et reprendre l'Orbe, le monde se retrouve fendu en deux. Belgarath, qui se transforme régulièrement en loup pour voyager, rencontre aussi une louve un peu particulière (elle vit plusieurs siècles et peut se transformer en chouette et en humaine, nommée Poledra) qu'il finit par épouser. Belgarath apprend aussi que Belzedar est passé à l'ennemi, devenant un disciple de Torak. Desespérés par cette nouvelle, Belmakor et Belsambar se suicident. Alors que Poledra est enceinte, Belgarath est envoyé par la Nécessité en Mallorée pour voler l'orbe à Torak. Elle est ensuite confiée à la garde d'un des fils de Cherek, Riva, qui va s'installer dans l'Île des Vents et y construire une forteresse pour protéger l'Orbe. Pendant l'absence de Belgarath, Poledra donne naissance à deux filles, Beldaran et Polgara, et meurt en couches. Beldaran épouse plus tard Riva et fonde ainsi la lignée des rois de Riva dont Garion est le dernier descendant. Beldaran meurt un jour, mais Polgara est une sorcière et vit avec son père durant des siècles. Ensemble, sur les ordres d'Aldur, ils manipulent les personnages importants et continuent de faire en sorte que l'Histoire se déroule de telle sorte que Garion puisse effectivement voir le jour. Lorsque le roi de Riva et sa familles sont empoisonnés par Salmissra (sous l'influence d'on ne sait encore qui), Belgarath et Polgara décident de cacher leur fils, qui a par chance survécu sans que les instigateurs du crime ne soient au courant, quelque part en Sendarie.

Professor Fergusson plans to make aviation history by making his way across Africa by balloon. He plans to claim uncharted territories in West Africa as proof of his inventions worth. But the British Prime Minister convinces him to go to the West in order to claim territories near the Volta river before slave traders claim it themselves. He has about five weeks to complete the journey and plant the Union Jack. Fergusson is accompanied by his aid, Jacques, as well as by Sir Henry Vining, special envoy of the Queen, and Donald O'Shay, an american journalist who will be a neutral witness to the planting of the flag. Makia, a slave freed by O'Shay just before leaving also travels with them, at first secretely. During their journey, they take more passengers: a chimpanzee found in the forest, and later Susan Gale, an american taken as a slave, and Ahmed, the slaver who caught her. The party met them while being the hosts of a sultan, by whom they had to stop and repair they balloon. During a stop in an oasis, Susan, Makia, Fergusson and Sir Henry are taken as slaves by bandits and taken to Timbuktu. Makia is sent to the slave market, and the others are to be killed at sundown, because no infidel is allowd to enter the sacred city. But Ahmed, Jacques and O'Shay rescue them all in the nick of time. They finally arrive at the Volta river and, after loosing the baloon, manage to plant the flag before the slavers.

Ingrédients

• 5 dL lait
• 70 g chocolat noir (Fazer Premium 70%)
• 40 g fructose
• 2 c. à café sucre vanillé
• 7 g méthyl-cellulose

Préparation

Mélanger à sec le fructose, le sucre vanillé et la méthyl-cellulose. Incorporer dans le lait froid tout en mixant avec un mixeur plongeant. Faire fondre le chocolat au micro-ondes (1 min à 900 W), l'incorporer au mélange (il ne se mélange pas bien car il refroidit en touchant le lait froid). Faire chauffer le mélange à 40 °C puis mixer pour complètement dissoudre le chocolat.

Faire chauffer une partie de la préparation dans un récipent allant au micro-ondes, à faible puissance (par exemple 40% de 900 W) et surveiller. Dès que la surface commence à gonfler, il faut arrêter de chauffer (avant ce point, ça va aussi).

Commentaires

• La consistance est très gélatineuse.
• Une cuillérée qui refroidit à une température considérée comme « froide » dans la bouche ne devient pas liquide.
• Si on chauffe dans une casserole en remuant, on obtient des grumeaux énormes (ça chauffe par le fond, donc ça gélifie par le bas et en mélangeant, ça casse le gel, d'où les grumeaux).
• On peut refaire fondre le gel en le laissant refroidir (d'abord à température ambiante, puis au frigo).
• Le goût n'est pas très prononcé, rajouter du chocolat ?
• Si on fait trop chauffer au micro-ondes, le gel va gonfler, casser, puis l'eau va s'échapper du gel; le gel flotte au dessus.

À une époque post-apocalyptique, Louison, un ex-clown, est embauché comme concierge dans un immeuble délabré au pied duquel se trouve une boucherie. Les animaux sont en voie d'extinction, le maïs sert de monnaie, et le boucher vend en secret de la viande humaine. Louison est censé être la prochaine victime, mais Julie, la fille du boucher, tombe amoureuse de lui et tente d'epêcher son père de le tuer. Pour ce faire, elle prend contact avec les troglodytes, un groupe de rebelles végétariens qui vivent dans les égouts. Elle leur demande d'enlever Louison en échange du maïs que son père accumule dans sa réserve. Le boucher tente d'abattre Louison durant l'opération des troglodytes, mais il échoue et se tue par accident.

Dans le but de faire de la glace chaude (qui fond en refroidissant), j'ai expérimenté avec une solution aqueuse de méthyl-cellulose.

• 1,5 dL eau froide
• 20 g sucre en poudre
• 0,7 g gomme de konjac
• 3,1 g méthyl-cellulose

Mélanger à sec le sucre, la gomme de konjac et la méthyl-cellulose. Mixer l'eau avec un mixer plongeant et ajouter peu à peu les poudres. Passer le mélange au micro-ondes (environ 40 s à 900 W).

On obtient effectivement un gel caoutchouteux qui « fond » en refroidissant. La méthyl-cellulose semble suffisamment épaississante pour ne pas avoir besoin de konjac. Mais elle a une odeur vaguement poissoneuse qui n'est pas très agréable.

J'ai ensuite essayé de réduire les proportions de méthyl-cellulose en diluant le produit fini. J'ai placé la moitié du mon mélange (encore chaud) dans 1,5 dL d'eau froide et à nouveau mixé. J'ai ensuite passé cette nouvelle préparation au micro-ondes (60 s à 900 W). La surface a gélifié, mais de l'eau est restée au fond du bol. Je suppose que le gel ne s'était en fait pas dissout dans l'eau lors de l'étape de dilution. Il aurait peut-être fallu attendre un refroidissement complet. Ou alors recommencer l'expérience du début avec une quantité moindre de méthyl-cellulose.

Prochaine étape: moins de méthyl-cellulose, avec du lait, du chocolat et du sucre, et une cuisson plus lente dans une casserole en mélangeant régulièrement afin d'observer la « prise » du gel.

Vimes chases Carcer, a psychopath killer up to the roof of Unseen University. Suddenly, because of a storm during a magic experiment, Vimes and Carcer are moved back in time thirty years, at a time where Vimes was only a young lance constable in the Night Watch. The old Vimes assumes the identity of John Keel, an old seargent who had arrived in Ankh-Morpork the same day and who had, in the original History, taught young Vimes about how to be a good Copper. The real Keel has been killed by Carcer soon after his arrival in Ankh-Morpork and the current captain of the Treacle Mine Road watch house is gullible enough to listen to the Vimes from the future. Vimes also meets Lu-Tze the History Monk, who explains that he has to play the part of Keel and stop Carcer in order to patch up History. In the next days, Vimes plays his role, but turns the watchmen into good coppers who care about their jobs. He also fights the Unmentionnables, the secret police of the current Patrician. Carcer has, unsuprisingly, become a seargent in the Unmentionnables. Meanwhile, a revolution is preparing in Ankh-Moropork (Vimes knows about it, of course). Barricades are built in the streets, and Vimes does his best to keep the peace behind the barricades, so that the army (martial law has been declared) doesn't have a reason to attack them. In the evening, the patrician is assassinated (by Vetinari, a then young member of the Assassin's Guild), replaced by a new Patrician worth no better than the old one, who orders Carcer (now captain of the Patrician's guard) to kill Keel. Vimes and a handfull of his coppers and some civilans try to escape Carcer and his men. Many are killed, but as soon as Vimes has his hands on Carcer, Lu-Tze reappears, puts the real Keel's body where Vimes was, and sends Vimes and Carcer back to their original time. Carcer escapes while Vimes checks on his wife who is about to give birth. Sybil and the baby (called Sam also) are safe, and Vimes finally catches Carcer at the cemetary, near the graves of those who died thirty years ago fighting Carcer.

Ingrédients

• 90g chocolat 70% (Fazer Premium)
• 50g sucre
• 2c. à café sucre vanillé
• 8dL lait
• 3.1g agar

Préparation

Mélanger à sec le sucre avec l'agar. Faire chauffer le lait avec le chocolat en morceaux à 95 °C. Sortir du feu, mixer avec un mixer plongeant. Ajouter le mélange sucre+agar et mixer encore. Verser dans des raviers et laisser refroidir.

Remarques

• La surface était gélifiée, mais le reste contenait des grumeaux partiellement gélifiés.
• La consistance était agréable, plus qu'avec les k-carraghénanes, pour autant qu'on puisse en juger.
• Essayer avec le double d'agar la prochaine fois.

Jeremy is a neurotic watchmaker who has been hired by an Auditor (disguised as Lady LeJean, a human woman) to build a glass clock. This device would stop time completely in the whole multiverse, which would then a state of complete stability which is what the Auditors are trying to achieve. The previous attempt to build such a device made Time a prisoner of the clock, but the latter being imperfect, it exploded and shattered History. The Monks of History are the self-appointed guardians of History, and the most powerful of them, Lu-Tze (called the Sweeper, because he actually is a sweeper) has been ordered by the Abbot to prevent the new glass clock from being built. Lu-Tze and his apprentice Lobsang (who has a supernatural sense of dealing with time) travel to Ankh-Morpork where the watchmaker lives. They arrive an instant too late, the clock is being started by the Auditors (who have also taken human form). Meanwhile, Death, War, Pestilence and Famine, knowing that the end of the world is close, are preparing for the Apocalypse, while Susan, Death's grand-daughter, tries to fight the Auditors. She meets Lobsang, who got separated from Lu-Tze, and together with Lady LeJean they fight the Auditors (with chocolate, since the latter's brand new bodies can't handle the explosion of senses that happens when they eat chocolate). In the meantime, Lu-Tze meets Ronald Soak, the best milkman in Ankh-Morpork, who doens't seem to suffer from the lack of time. Soak happens to be the Fifth Horseman of the Apocalypse, Chaos, who was long forgotten. The five Horsemen fight the Auditors and drive them away. Lobsang is the son of Time and the Abbot, and is also a duplicate of Jeremy, the child of Time being born twice. While in Ankh-Morpork, Lobsang and Jeremy merge. Finally, Lobsang/Jeremy uses the monks' tools to put History back into shape.

Ingrédients

• 70g chocolat 70% (Fazer Premium)
• 50g sucre
• 1c. à café sucre vanillé
• 5dL lait
• 1.1g gomme de guar
• 1.1g gomme de xanthane

Préparation

Faire fondre le chocolat (au micro-ondes, 1 min à 900 W). Mélanger à sec le sucre et les gommes. Faire chauffer le lait à 70 °C, y ajouter le chocolat fondu, mixer avec un mixer plongeant, puis verser le mélange sucre+gommes en pluie tout en mixant. Ajouter le sucre vanillé, et mixer encore une fois.

Remarques

• Une fois refroidie, la préparation forme une sorte de gel très fluide, difficile à faire tenir sur une cuillère à café car les « morceaux » que l'on détache à l'aide de la cuillère sont généralement plus gros que cette dernière
• La consistance sur la langue est très glissante
• La surface est une mousse figée (dûe au mixer) et on a l'impression de manger une sorte de mousse au chocolat

The inhabitants of planet Spaceball have used up all their atmosphere and plan to steal the one from the peaceful planet Druidia. For that purpose, the evil Lord Dark Helmet plans to kidnap princess Vespa of Druidia in order to force her father King Roland to give them the code for opening the shield that protects the planet. Meanwhile on Druidia, the princess escapes her marriage with Prince Valium and just before being kidnapped by the Spaceballs, is rescued by Lone Starr, a space cowboy. Trying to escape the Spaceballs, they get stranded on a desert planet where they meet Yogurt, a wizard who teaches Lone Starr how to control the Schwartz. Soon after, Vespa is kidnapped by the Spaceballs who then extort the code from the King. After rescuing the princes from planet Spaceball, Lone Starr and his friends infiltrate the Spaceball's giant spaceship. There he faces Dark Helmet in a duel of Schwartz, before activating the self destruct just before the Spaceballs managed to steal the air of Druidia. At the end, Lone Star learns from Yogurt that he's actually a Prince and he is then allowed to marry the princess.

William de Worde is the editor of the first newspaper in Ankh-Morpork. His sense of digging the truth leads him into investigating the apparent murder attempt by the Patriciant of his clerk. But several clues don't match. Soon William and the Watch try to find the Patrician's dog Wuffles, who is a witness to the whole crime. William is contacted by an anonymous informant named Deep Bone (actually Gaspode) who wants to sell him the whereabouts of Wuffles (the dog is actually hiding with Gaspode, Foul Ole Ron and their team). Meanwhile, the two henchmen (Mr Pin and Mr Tulip) who have been hired through Slant by the Comity to unelect the Patrician are trying themselves to find Wuffles in order to protect their operation and save their skin. William finally discovers that the Comity is led by his own father (with whom he doesn't really get along). The Patrician is finally freed from jail, and William gets his blessing to pursue his newspaper operations.

Ne pas oublier de mettre de l'eau dans la cocotte-minute avant de la mettre sur la plaque électrique pendant 20 minutes et de se demander pourquoi elle met tellement de temps à chauffer.

La plaque électrique en question avait rougi quand j'ai enlevé la cocotte, et les patates avec un goût de pas bon. Heureusement que la fondue de poireaux était bonne.

Préparation

Faire fondre le chocolat

Mélanger à sec le sucre et la gomme de Tara, faire chauffer le lait à 40 °C, verser le mélange sucre+Tara en pluie tout en mixant avec un mixer plongeant. Ajouter le chocolat fondu et continuer de mixer.

Remarques

• Le mélange épaissit davantage en reposant/refroidissant.
• La consistance sur la langue est étrange, un peu comme une mousse épaisse (mais pas vraiment), légèrement astringeante et collante.

Maurice is a talking cat, leading a tribe of talking rats and a stupid-looking kid with a flute. Together they scam the small villages in Uberwald, simulating a plague of rats and getting the kid paid to “magically” leading them out of the village. On day, they arrive in a village already heavily plagued by rats, where the rats steal so much food that the prices have raised to incredible heights. But Maurice's rats notice that although there is many traps and much poison around, there is no single rat in town. The kid and the Mayor's daughter Malicia discover that the rat catchers have been stealing food from the cellars (these all seem to communicate with each other) and that they event breed the rats to get bigger and more aggressive ones and have them fight against dogs. The rats also discover that a Rat King (eight rats attached together by the tail, made by a rat catcher) has grown a magical mind of its own and tries to seize power in the city. Thanks to Maurice and its rats, the Rat King and the rat catchers are defeated, and Maurice manages to organise a treaty between the talking rats and the population, so that the latter feed the rats, and the former keep the city free of rogue rats and refrain from spoiling and raiding the food.
