Eggsy is attacked by Charlie, a man wearing a prosthetic arm who had been rejected by Kingsman. Eggsy manages to escape, but the remotely controlled arm remains in his car, hacks the Kingsman system and finds enough information to launch a simultaneous attack on all Kingsman members. Only Eggsy and Merlin survive, the former having dinner in Stockholm with his Swedish princess of a girlfriend's parents and the second not being important enough. Kingsman's Doomsday Protocol leads the pair to a whiskey distillery in Kentucky named Statesman, Kingsman's American counterpart, where they discover that Hart has actually survived his attack but lost his memories. They learn about the Golden Circle, the drug cartel that has destroyed Kingsman: it has laced all its drugs with a virus an is blackmailing the world (through the US president) to legalize all drugs in exchange for an antidote. The president pretends to agree but in reality wants to get rid of the drug problem by letting all drug users die. At the Glastonbury Festival, Eggsy manages to plant a tracker on Charlie's girlfriend, which leads them to a secret base in the Italian mountains where he, Harry (who has recovered his memory) and Statesman agent Whiskey manage to steal a sample of the antidote. While fighting back an attack by the cartel's goons in a cabin in the woods, Whiskey accidentally destroys the antidote. The latter is wounded and Harry has a hunch it was not an accident. A clue found at the factory leads Eggsy, Harry and Merlin to Poppy Land, the cartel's secret lair in the Cambodian jungle. Merlin dies on a land mine while allowing Eggsy and Hart to enter the 1950's-town-main-street-themed compound. They defeat Poppy, free Elton John (who was her prisoner), defeat Whiskey who arrived out of nowhere and wants to kill all drug users since his girlfriend was killed by one and finally get the device that allows to remotely trigger the automatic delivery of the antidote all over the world. In the end, the president is impeached, Statesman buys a distillery in Scotland to help rebuild Kingsman and Eggsy marries princess Tilde.

After Mr. Wing dies, the mogwai Gizmo becomes the guinea pig of scientists at a lab in the Clamp Center, a state-of-the-art highrise building in Manhattan owned by eccentric billionaire Daniel Clamp. At the mercy of the chief researcher Dr. Catheter, Gizmo is rescued by his former owner Billy Peltzer and his fiancée Kate, both of whom work elsewhere in the building. Gizmo accidentally gets wet and spawns four evil mogwais who quickly move through the building until they find the restaurants in the shopping area and eat food after midnight, becoming gremlins. They set off the fire sprinklers, quickly spawning thousand more gremlins, some of them changing shape by drinking genetic serums from the lab; one of them becomes pure electricity but gets trapped in the building's telephone system. Billy manages to convince Clamp of danger and devises a plan: move all the clocks of the building forward, attract all the gremlins in the lobby and fool them into exiting the building while the sun is still up. Clamp exits through his secret escape route and coordinate with the emergency services outside. Alas, a thunderstorm hides the sun just as they were ready to let the gremlins out. Billy then sprays all the gathered gremlins with a fire hose and releases the electric one from the phone system, killing them all (except one that was turned into a female and is enticing the chief of security to marry her).

Steamboat Bill's steamer business now has to compete with the steamer of JJ King's, who already owns half the town. The same day, Bill's son arrives by train from Boston, where he has finished his studies. King's daughter, whom Bill Jr. also knows, arrives the same day by car. Kitty expects Bill Jr. to meet with her on her father's boat in the evening, but Bill Sr. is obviously opposed to it, and Junior's attempt fails. Bill Sr.'s boat is then declared unsafe, and when Bill assaults him, King manages to get his competitor thrown into prison. The day gets very wet and windy. Junior tries to get his father to escape, first with a bread containing hidden tools, then by accidentally knocking the sheriff out. When the cyclone hits, buildings are torn away and JJ's steamer sinks. The jail slides into the river, with Bill Sr. in it. Junior is flown into the air by the storm and lands into the river. He manages to climb aboard his father's steamer, rigs remote controls with ropes so that he can pilot the boat and control the propeller at the same time. He manages to first rescue Kitty who is clinging to a house that ended in the river, and then to rescue his father by driving the boat through the floating jail. Junior then quickly jumps into the river, leaving a puzzled Kitty. But his intentions become clear when he returns towing a minister.

When she was a child, Molly witnessed the Men in Black neuralyze her parents and becomes obsessed with the organization. Twenty years later, she finally manages to locate their headquarters, crashes in and eventually get hired as M. She is then sent to the London branch on MiB where she meets super-star agent H and the head of the office, High T, who had in the past repelled together an invasion by the Hive through a wormhole at the Eiffel Tower. M manages to convince H to let her accompany him on a mission to protect an alien diplomat. The diplomat is however killed by twin killers from the Hive, but in his last breath gives M a crystal and tells her that MiB may be compromised and that H is not anymore himself. Suspicious of everyone, M keeps silent. Despite being assigned desk duties, H convinces M to accompany him to Marrakesh to follow a lead on the poison that was used on the diplomat. They must however flee MiB agents who suspect M is the traitor after having recovered a video of M receiving the crystal. They then find out that the crystal transforms into a portable weapon able to destroy a whole planet, just before it is stolen from them. H reasons that it will be sold to Riza, weapons dealer and H's former lover. They infiltrate Riza's island in Sicily. They manage to recover the weapon and escape, but are attacked by the twins, and saved in the nick of time by High T and MiB agents. But H realizes that the twins wanted the weapon to use against the Hive, and soon finds out that High T is under the control of the Hive. H and M follow him to the Eiffel Tower, where they learn that High T had been assimilated into the Hive and H had been neuralized. M and H eventually manage to use the weapon through the wormhole to destroy the Hive.

In a secret lab somewhere, Mewtwo escapes. Later, Tim Goodman travels to Ryme City after learning about the death of his father, Harry, a police detective. In the man's apartment, he finds a vial of “R” that seems to make nearby Pokémons aggressive. He also meets a talking Pikachu that only he can understand. Pikachu is amnesiac but believes that Harry is not dead. They meet a Mr. Mime, an informant of Harry, who directs them to an illegal Pokémon battle arena where they learn that the Doctor provides R to the owner of the arena to help him win the fights. When the arena is raided by the police, Tim and Pikachu are introduced to a colleague of Harry's who shows them surveillance footage of the accident showing that Harry could not have survived. The pair is then contacted by Howard Clifford, founder of Ryme City who reveals that Mewtwo abducted Harry and erased Pikachu's memory and that his son Roger is behind the creation of R. Tim and Pikachu then enroll Lucy, a young journalist investigating Harry's disappearance, and they travel to the abandoned genetics lab that Harry was investigating. They are attacked by various modified Pokémons, and an injured Pikachu is eventually healed by Mewtwo. Pikachu recovers parts of his memories, remembers that he had helped Mewtwo and leaves Tim, believing he betrayed Harry. But when he reaches the scene of the accident, Pikachu discovers that it was caused by the augmented Pokémon. Back in Ryme City, Howard Clifford reveals himself as the villain. He disperses R during a parade, which, using the drugged Mewtwo's powers, causes people to merge with their Pokémons. Pikachu arrives and fights Mewtwo, and Tim finally manages to remove Howard's headset that he uses to control Mewtwo, causing people and Pokémons to separate. Mewtwo explains that Harry helped him escape from Howard's lab. After the accident, Mewtwo healed Harry's body while Pikachu had accepted to fuse his man with Harry's to be able to continue the investigation. Mewtwo separates them and Tim reunites with Harry in his human body. Tim decides to stay in Ryme City and to become a detective.

In 1974, Thaddeus Sivana is transported to a strange cave where a wizard tests whether he has a pure heart. He fails the test. In present-day, Billy Batson repeatedly escapes from foster homes in search for his mother who lost him when he was three. He ends up in a group home where he meets five other kids, including superhero enthusiast Freddy. At the same time, Sivana manages to go back to the cave and gets possessed by the seven deadly Sins when the Eye fuses into his body. The wizard's searching spell then takes Billy to the cave, and the child receives the wizard's powers, transforming him into a adult superhero. With Freddy's help, Billy discovers his many powers and his ability to change forth and back by saying the word “shazam”. At first, Billy uses his powers for vanity, selling selfies with himself to tourists. Sivana then comes and takes Billy and his siblings to the cave to force him to surrender his powers using the wizard's staff. Together, they attack Sivana and Billy notices that the villain becomes vulnerable when all the Sins leave him to take physical form. Billy then uses the staff to share his powers with his siblings, and then breaks it. They escape the cave to a winter carnival where they battle the sins. Billy manages to trick Envy into leaving Sivana's body so that he can get the Eye out of the villain's head and force the Sins back to the cave as statues. The children return to a more or less normal life, and use the cave as their superhero headquarters. In prison, Sivana is approached by a talking caterpillar who proposes an alliance.

In 1939, just before World War II, John Jones is sent by his American newspaper to Europe to report on the conditions there. He plans to meet Van Meer, leader of the Universal Peace Party, at an event hosted by Fisher, but the man disappears. Jones then goes to Amsterdam where Van Meer is speaking at another event, but the diplomat is killed in front of Jones. The latter chases the killer in a car driven by Scott ffolliott and his friend Carol Fisher to the countryside but they lose track of the killer. While the two other leave to fetch the police, Jones eventually finds the killer hidden in a windmill where the real Van Meer is kept prisoner and drugged, soon to be taken by plane to another country. When the police arrives, all traces of the criminal have disappeared an nobody believes Jones's story. Back at his hotel in Amsterdam, Jones escape a kidnapping by leaving with Carol to London, where they are helped by Carol's father. Alas, the man is a member of the conspiracy and tries to get Jones killed. Jones then takes Carol to Cambridge, simulating a kidnapping in order to force Fisher to reveal Van Meer's location. Romantic misunderstanding ensues, and Carol drives back to her father in London. As the plan has failed, ffolliott tails Fisher to the place where Van Meer is being interrogated but he is is taken prisoner. He manages to escape, but not before Van Meer has revealed a secret provision in an treaty that would help Germany in the war. The next day, France and Britain declare war on Germany. Jones and ffolliott follow Fisher and Carol on a flying boat to America. A telegram informs Fisher that Van Meer has recovered and identified Fisher as his kidnapper. He confesses his treason to his daughter just before the plane is shot by a German destroyer and crashes in the ocean. Fisher sacrifices himself so that the others may live. The survivors are rescued by an American ship, her captain refuses to let them report their stories. Jones nonetheless manages to phone his story to his newspaper. Jones and Carol return to England and he becomes a successful war correspondent.

As a teenager, Eduard, son of a cabinet maker, fell in love with Sophie. As she was of noble birth, they were forcibly separated soon after Eduard gave Sophie a locket with his picture. Fifteen years later in 1889, Eduard comes to Vienna after having traveled the world and becomes famous as an illusionist named Eisenheim. He is noticed by Crown Prince Leopold who attends a performance and volunteers his fiancée Sophie for a trick. Eisenheim recognizes Sophie, and after a private performance where he humiliates the prince, they become lovers. Sophie reveals Leopold's plan to marry her soon, in order to get support from the Hungarian side of the empire during his future attempt at overthrowing his father. When Chief Inspector Uhl tells the prince of Sophie's relationship with Eisenheim, Leopold shuts down the theatre where he is performing. The two lovers then plan to flee by train, but on the evening before, a drunk Leopold mortally wounds Sophie as she flees on horse, and her body is found the next day by Eisenheim and a party of policemen. Eisenheim then buys a small theatre and starts a new show where he sits alone on the stage and makes talking images of dead people appear. He soon attracts a loud crowd of people who hope to speak with lost loved ones, and when he makes Sophie appear and the audience starts asking whether she was killed by Leopold, the latter demands that Uhl arrests Eisenheim for necromancy. From the police headquarters, the illusionist tells his assembled followers that it is all an illusion, and Uhl releases him. During the next performance, Sophie's image appears again and says that someone in the audience is her murderer. A bunch of policemen attempts to arrest him on stage, but this time Eisenheim himself is an illusion. Uhl then reports to Leopold and reveals that he has found gems from the prince's ceremonial sword in the stable where Sophie was wounded, as well as her locket. He also says that he wrote a letter to the emperor, revealing the conspiracy to seize the throne. Leopold commit suicide as officers of the army arrive to arrest him. As Uhl, no longer a police officer, leaves the place he is approached by a boy how gives him a parcel from Eisenheim (the plans to one if his illusions) and notices that the adult who just jostled him took the locket from his pocket. Uhl chases the man to the train station, but arrives too to catch the man. He then realizes that Sophie's death was staged so that she could be free of Leopold. Somewhere far away in the mountains, Sophie and Leopold start a new life together.

In 1971, the Washington Post struggles financially and her owner Kay Graham decides that the company needs to become publicly traded. At the same time, the New York Times publishes an article based on a leaked military report showing that the Vietnam war is not going well, and that the US never had any hope of winning it. An injunction from the Department on Justice forbids the Times to publish any more articles based on those documents, but a few journalists from the Post manage to identify the leak and to acquire a copy of the secret report. Kay asserts her position as owner and publisher of the Post and decides to publish despite the injunction that arguably also applies to the Post, rebelling against Nixon's attempt to restrain the freedom of the Press. She of course has to take this decision just in the critical period during which the banks investing through the IPO have a right to cancel their transactions. The Post and the Time go to court shortly after and eventually all the way up to the Supreme Court, which confirms the freedom of the press.

Charlie Newton lives with her parents in Santa Rosa. One day, her uncle Charlie announces he would soon arrive and spend some time with the family. He bears expensive gifts and opens an account with a large sum of cash at the bank. The whole family is happy to see their uncle they had not seen in a long while. But Young Charlie notices strange things happening: her uncle cuts tears away and hides a newspaper article, and he refuses to have his picture taken. Young Charlie learns from the paper and then from the photographer (who is really a police detective under cover) that her uncle is under suspicion of being the “Merry Widow Murderer” who has killed three women back East. Uncle Charlie also once inadvertently reveals his hatred of rich widows. When Young Charlie confronts him, he admits being one of the two suspects being chased by the police. She also agrees not to tell anything to her mother, who idolizes her younger brother and would be devastated. The detective then tells Young Charlie that the other suspect has been killed and is believed to have been the murderer. But Young Charlie knows too much, and she has two suspicious accidents, once on a broken staircase and the second time she is lured by her uncle into the garage where the car running and cannot get out. She survives thanks to a neighbour who was passing by and heard her banging at the jammed door. Uncle Charlie then decides to leave on the next day along with a rich widow. On the train, He manages to retain his niece as it leaves the station and tries to to throw her out of the door, but he instead falls in front of an oncoming train. At the funeral, Young Charlie meets the detective again (who is in love with her) and they agree to keep Uncle Charlie's crimes a secret.

Lou Jean help her husband Clovis to escape from prison because their child has been placed in the care of foster parents in Sugarland and she is being stonewalled by the administration. Lou Jean wants to go to Sugarland and get back her son. They first steals the car of an old couple, but when pulled-over by the police, they flee, run into an accident and eventually steal the patrol car and kidnap the young policeman, Slide. They are chased by Slide's boss, Cpt. Tanner, but since they threaten to shoot the policeman, Tanner simply follows them across East Texas, heading a long caravan of police cars soon joined by journalist and civilians. The couple manages to refuel the patrol car and grab food thanks to Tanner's unwillingness to have them shot from a distance. They spend one night hidden in the lot of a used car's seller, and are shot at by trigger-happy, former policemen. The manage to leave, gathering crowds of supporters whenever they drive through a town. As Tanner sees no way out, he agrees to set up a trap by hiding two snipers in the foster parents' house. Slide, who has bonded with the fugitive during the trip, suspects a trap but Lou Jean insists that Clovis goes out of the car and gets their son. Clovis is shot but they manage to escape with the car until they drive into a shallow river. Clovis is dead, Lou Jean is arrested and Slide is unharmed.

Albert Stark is a sheep farmer in Arizona in 1882. After his girlfriend Louise broke up with him because he refused to defend himself in a duel, he decides to leave for San Francisco. Lewis, a bandit, arrives in town with Anna, his boss's wife. Lewis quickly gets arrested for having killed the pastor's son in a saloon fight, during which Albert saves Anna from being killed and they become friends. At the fair, Albert impulsively challenges Louise's arrogant new boyfriend Foy to a shooting contest, and during the next week, Anna teaches Albert how to shoot. During a barn dance the night before the fight, Anna drugs Foy with a laxative, leading him to forfeit the fight the next day. The next day, Anna's husband Clinch arrives and, having learned from Lewis that he had seen a man kiss his wife, threatens to kill people unless the man duels him the next day. Clinch takes Anna with him but she escapes and goes to Albert's farm to warn him about Clinch, who arrives soon after. Albert helps Anna to escape before escaping himself to the mountains where he is captured by a tribe of Apaches. As Albert can speak their language, they won't kill him and instead give him a bowl of peyote during a ceremony. The vision makes him realize he loves Anna, despite her lying to him about being married. Meanwhile, Clinch captures Anna, then duels with Albert. The latter grazes Clinch with a bullet dipped in rattlesnake venom and manages to stall him until he dies from the poison. Louise attempts to win back Albert, but he rejects her and enters a relationship with Anna. With the bounty for killing Clinch, Albert buys a lot more sheep.

In 2002, Dr. Evil plans to partner with supervillain Goldmember in 1975 to develop a power unit for his tractor beam that would pull an asteroid into the Earth. He is however arrested by by Austin Powers and sent to prison. Austin however learns that his estranged father Nigel has been kidnapped and asks Evil for help, who reveals that Goldmember is behind the abduction. Austin travels to 1975 and is reunited with his former lover, FBI agent Foxxy Cleopatra. They find Nigel, but Goldmember takes him to 2002. Evil escapes from prison, and sets up a new submarine lair in Tokyo. Austin and Foxxy where they confront Fat Bastard, now a sumo wrestler, who reveals that businessman Mr. Roboto is building a device for Goldmemeber and Evil. The two agents infiltrate the factory, but Goldmember escapes with the control unit for the tractor beam. Around Evil, Scott replaces Mini-Me in his father's heart, so Mini-Me defects and joins Austin. Austin, Foxxy and Mini-Me infiltrate the submarine, but Austin is captured. Foxxy prevents Evil from activating the tractor beam and frees Austin. As the latter prepares to kill Evil, Nigel appears and reveals that they Evil and Austin are brothers, unknowingly separated when they were babies when their mother was assassinated. Goldmember then activates the tractor beam, but Austin and Evil work together to turn it into a ray that destroys the meteor. This story is then shown to have been adapted into a film called Austinpussy. Scott has become a supervillain and declares he will get revenge.

When a US submarine sinks near the Cayman Trough after an encounter with an unidentified entity, the nearby underwater drilling platform Deep Core is sent to attempt a rescue, accompanied with a SEAL team. They do not find any survivor, but one of the civilians sees a non-terrestrial entity. Believing it to be a Soviet submarine, the SEALs take the platform's largest submarine for secretly recovering one of the submarine's nuclear warhead, preventing the platform's crew from disconnecting its tether to their surface base, the Explore, before the coming storm rips it off. The tether's reel is ripped off the Explorer and drags Deep Core to the edge of the trench, partially flooding the platform and killing several people. While waiting, the crew sees another manifestation of the NTI as a pseudopod that also takes a look at the nuclear warhead. This prompts the SEAL's leader, suffering from paranoia due to high-pressure nervous syndrome, to use one of the platform's ROV to deliver the warhead to the NTI inhabiting the trench. A battle and an underwater chase ensues in which the SEAL is killed. The chief of the platform, Bud, then decides to use a diving suit equipped with a liquid-breathing apparatus brought by the SEALs to dive into the trench and disarm the warhead. He has do dive deeper than planned and has not oxygen left for the return trip. Waiting to die, he is rescued by the NTI who show him television images of humans killing each other in wars, as well as gigantic tsunami, created by the NTI, threatening all the coasts of the world. They however stop the waves as Bud has shown, by risking his life to save the NTIs, that they are also capable of compassion. The NTI's underwater mothership, carrying Bud, then rises to the surface, lifting Deep Core and saving the crew's lives (magically removing the need for decompression).

After having escaped, Dr. Evil comes back and goes back in time to 1969 to steal his mojo, which Austin suddenly notices in his present 1999. MOD sends Austin back to 1969 where he meets CIA agent Felicity Shagwell. Together they interrogate an assassin hired by Dr. Evil who reveals the existence of the super-villain volcano lair. They then identify Evil's agent who stole Austin's mojo, Fat Bastard. Felicity is tasked by MOD to implant a tracking device in Fat Bastard by any means necessary, but that device only lead them to a public toilet where they can take a stool sample revealing the presence of a plant that exists only on a single volcano island. Austin and Felicity arrive on the island and are made prisoner. Evil leaves for the moon where he has built a giant laser that he uses to extort money from the US government under threat of destroying Washington. Austin and Felicity then fly to the Moon on an Apollo rocket where Austin fights Mini-Me, Evil's miniature clone, and throws him into space. Austen then has to chose between saving Felicity or the world. She tells Austin to save the world, but is killed. Evil suggests that Austin could use the time machine to go back in time 10 minutes and save Felicity, but as there are now two Austins, they manage to save both Felicity and the world. Evil initiates the base's self-destruct and destroys Austin's mojo, but Felicity points out that all the things he succeeded in doing prove that he had never actually lost it. They travel back to 1999, where Fat Bastard reappears and fails to kill Austin. Dr. Evil's rocket recovers Mini-Me.

Three convicts, Pete, Delmar and Ulysses escape from a chain gang in order to retrieve a treasure in a place that will soon be flooded to make a lake. They first seek refuge at Pete's cousin's who betrays them to the police. They manage to escape in a car and pick up Tommy, a guitar player. In need for money, they stop at a radio station who pays singers to record their songs and introduce themselves as the Soggy Bottom Boys. They part with Tommy after their car is found by the police. Their song becomes a hit, and producers start to search for the band; the trio knows nothing of that. Later near a river, they encounter three women washing clothes and singing. The women get them drunk and they lose consciousness. They wake up alone, Pete gone with only his clothes left, inhabited by a toad; Delmar believes that the women have transformed their friend. Later in a town, they meet a Big Dan, a one-eyed Bible salesman who gets them to invite him to a picnic, where Big Dan mugs them and kills the toad. On their way to Ulysses' home town, they see Pete working in a chain gang. Once in town, Ulysses confronts his ex-wife Penny who is about to re-marry with Vernon, the campaign manager of Stokes, opposing the current governor in the next election. Penny had told their daughters that Ulysses was dead, and the latter gets beaten by Vernon. Ulysses and Delmar free Pete from his jail; under torture he had revealed the location of the treasure. Ulysses confesses there is no treasure, he fabricated the story to convince the two men chained to him to help him escape so that he could get back to his wife. The trio then stumble upon a Ku Klux Klan rally about to lynch Tommy. They disguise as Klan members to rescue him, but are recognized by Big Dan. Chaos ensues, killing Big Dan and revealing that Stokes is the Grand Wizard. Ulysses convinces his two friends to help him win his wife back, so they sneak into the campaign gala dinner and sing their radio hit, getting acclaimed by the crowd. Stokes arrives, recognizes them, demands them to be arrested, and reveals his white supremacist views. The crowd runs him out of town on a rail, and the current governor, seizing the opportunity, grants them pardon in public. Penny agrees to marry Ulysses if he gets her original ring, left in a house in the valley which will be flooded. The next morning, they arrives at the house but they are arrested by the sheriff who is set on hanging them on the spot. They are saved by the incoming flood; Tommy finds the ring in a desk that floats by, and Ulysses finally gives it to Penny. She complains it's the wrong one and that she will not marry him until he finds the right one.

Alien secretly visit Earth, but one of them is left on the ground when the others take off to flee a group of human. The alien is then found by Elliott who first hides him in his room before sharing the secret with his elder brother and his younger sister. Elliott soon realizes he can feel the alien's thoughts and emotions. He also demonstrates his powers by levitating balls and reviving potted flowers, as well as his ability to cure a small wound. The next day, while Elliott is at school, the alien forages in the fridge and gets drunk on beer, which also affects Elliott's behaviour, causing him to free all the frogs in the biology class. The alien learn to read with comics, names himself E.T. and starts building a communication device to contact his ship. E.T.'s health starts to decline, and on Halloween night, Elliott and his siblings disguise the alien as a ghost and take him to the woods where he can use his device and call home. Elliott wakes up the next morning alone in the forest. He goes home and his brother discovers E.T. dying next to a culvert and takes him home to an also-dying Elliott. Their mother then discovers the truth just as government agents invest the house and wrap it into a biohazard shell. E.T. and Elliott are studied by a number of helpless scientists, but only when the mental connection between the boy and the alien disappears does Elliott get better; E.T. however appears to die and is put in a portable cryo-chamber. As Elliott says his tearful goodbyes to his friend, he notices that the revived flowers that had died at the same time as E.T. have come back to life. With the help of his brother, they steal the van containing the cryo-chamber, and flee to the forest, while their friend help them evade the authorities that are chasing them. In the forest, they reach the space ship as the adults show up. E.T. says goodbye to the children before leaving in the ship.

Jeffrey “The Dude” Lewbowski, a slacker living in Los Angeles, is mistakenly assaulted in his home by two men who want to recover money owed by the millionaire Jeffrey Lebowski's trophy wife, Bunny. One of the men urinates on the Dude's carpet before leaving. Following his dubious bowling partner Walter's advice, the Dude meets with the millionaire and swindles a carpet from his home. The millionaire later contacts the Dude and ask him to be ready to deliver a suitcase containing one million dollars as a ransom to save Bunny. The same evening he is attacked by two thugs sent by Maud, the millionaire's daughter who wants to get the carpet (her favourite) back. The next day, the delivery of the ransom fails due to Walter's interference, and soon after the Dude's car containing the suitcase is then stolen outside the bowling alley. The millionaire then confronts the Dude and shows him a severed toe, supposedly Bunny's. Maud then asks the Dude to help recover the money which her father illegally withdrew from the family's foundation. The Dude is then abducted by Jackie Treehorn, Bunny's creditor, who demands to know where Bunny (and his money) are. The Dude explains that Bunnny faked her abduction and that the money is with the teenager who stole the Dude's care. The Dude then notices he's been drugged, and is left outside on the streets of Malibu where he is threatened by the chief of police. Back home, he finds Maud who has sex with him because she wants a child whose father would not matter. She also reveals that the millionaire has no money of his own, it all came from Maud's mother. The Dude and Walter confront the millionaire and discover that Bunny has returned, having simply gone out of town without telling anyone. Bunny's nihilist friend has used the opportunity to extract money from her husband, who in turn has tried to embezzle money from the foundation and blame its disappearance on the kidnappers; there never was any money in the suitcase. Later outside the bowling alley, the Dude and his friends are attacked by the nihilists which are quickly defeated, but their third friend Donny dies from a heart attack. The Dude and Walter scatter his ashes, and then go back bowling.

Egyptologist Sir Lionel Barton goes to China to find the tomb of Genghis Khan before Fu Manchu to prevent the latter from using the sword and mask to raise the people of Asia into a war to wipe out the “white race”. Sir Lionel is kidnapped before the expedition can leave and tortured by Fu Manchu to reveal the location of the tomb. His daughter Sheila, who knows its location, insists on joining the expedition along with her fiancé Terry and a few others, including British secret agent Nayland Smith. After having found the tomb, Fu Manchu offers to trade Barton for the sword, which Sheila accepts. Terry delivers the artifact, but the sword is a fake, secretly made and switched by Nayland. Barton's dead body is delivered to Sheila and Terry is whipped. Nayland tries to rescue Terry, but is taken prisoner. Terry is then injected with a serum that makes him temporarily obedient to Fu Manchu, and is sent to get Sheila to deliver the real sword and mask to Fu Manchu. She is taken prisoner and condemned to become a human sacrifice. Nayland is lowered into a crocodile pit but manages to escape and save Terry from receiving a second injection of serum that would make him Fu Manchu's slave forever. Using Fu Manchu's electric arc death ray, they incapacitate the villain just before he could kill Sheila with the sword. Terry then kills Fu Manchu with the sword, while Nayland kills his followers with the death ray. On the ship back to England, they throw the sword into the sea.

Jordan Belfort is a young trader who loses his job during 1987's Black Monday. He then goes to work for a shady trading company that sells cheap stocks to naive customers and due to the huge commission, becomes quickly quite rich. He then teams with his neighbour Donnie and a few school friends to set up their own trading company Stratton Oakmont, using a pump and dump scheme first on average customers, but soon turning to wealthy ones, making a huge profit in the process. The company grows quickly and Jordan divorces his wife to marry Naomi, whom he met at a party, but that does not turn Jordan away from his drug habit and taste for prostitutes. The company then handles the IPO of Steve Madden, and illegal practices allow the founders to gain millions of dollars in cash. To escape scrutiny from the SEC and the FBI, the founders use family members who have a European passports as mules to carry the money to a Swiss bank and open the account in the name of Naomi's British aunt. Donnie gets into a fight with his friend Brad, leading to Brad getting arrested and Jordan's phone being wiretapped. One day, while both high on drugs, Donnie calls Jordan and some incriminating information reaches the FBI. Jordan's father advises him to leave the company, which would put an end on the investigation, but Jordan decides to stay. During a holiday in Italy in 1996, Naomi learns that her aunt had suddenly died, and Jordan is given 24h by his banker to come to Switzerland and get papers forged. On the way to Monaco their yacht is however caught in a storm and sinks while the passengers are rescued; Jordan takes this a sign the he should sober from his drug addiction. In 1998 Jordan is arrested because the Swiss banker is arrested in the US and has given information about Jordan. The latter agrees to help the FBI gather evidence on his colleagues in exchange for leniency. Naomi tells him she wants a divorce and full custody of their children. In rage, high of cocaine, Jordan tries to abduct his daughter, but fails. Later, wearing a wire to work, Jordan slips a note to Donnie, warning him, and eventually gets arrested by the FBI who also raids Stratton Oakmont. Jordan receives a reduced sentence for his testimony and is released in 2000. After his release, he makes a living by hosting seminars on sales techniques.

David is a paleontologist who must secure a donation from Elizabeth Random to his museum, and also get married the next day. He meet her lawyer on a golf course, but he is prevented to play by a young woman, Susan, who steals his ball, then his car. The same evening, David attempts to meet the lawyer again at a reception, but Susan interferes again. The next day, David receives the one bone that he was missing for completing his brontosaurus skeleton just as Susan telephones, telling him that he must help her handle the tame leopard named Baby sent by her brother Mark. David first refuses, but Susan pretends over the phone to be attacked by Baby. David comes to her rescue still holding the bone and then gets manipulated into accompanying her in taking Baby to her farm in Connecticut. After having locked up Baby, Susan, who has fallen in love with David, does her best to prevent him from leaving and getting married. Susan's aunt then arrives with her dog George who steals the bone and buries it somewhere. David and Susan spend some time following the dog in the hope to recover the bone, making David look like a fool in the aunt's eyes, who happens to be Elizabeth Random. The gardener then inadvertently frees Baby, who is revealed to be a gift to Elizabeth who always wanted a leopard. David calls the zoo to help capture baby, but Susan and him race to capture him before the zoo does. They mistakenly free another, dangerous leopard transported in a truck, believing it were the zoo's people. Because they behave strangely, at night, near a neighbour's house, David and Susan and arrested by a befuddled town policeman. As he does not believe their story, Susan pretends they are members of a gang, and manages to escape. Elizabeth and a few other characters then arrive to the police and get imprisoned as well due to further misunderstanding, until Susan comes back dragging the dangerous leopard behind her, believing it is Baby. David manages to lock it up, and Elizabeth lawyer arrives and verifies everyone's identity. Some time later, Susan brings the missing bone to David, who recognizes that that adventure was the best day of his life, and they finally kiss.

After the Blip, where half the population of the universe has disappeared and reappeared unchanged five years later, Peter Parker's school organizes a summer field-trip to Europe. In Venice, Peter helps an unknown superhero nicknamed Mysterio to fight a water elemental that attacks the city. Peter is then contacted by Nick Fury to help fighting elementals who have destroyed a parallel universe Earth from which Mysterio aka Beck is one of the few survivors. Fury also gives Peter Tony Stark's glasses that allow to control all of Stark's weapons. Peter refuses to join Fury's team as he wants to spend his time with his friends and especially declare his flame to MJ. Fury then manipulates the trip's organization and redirects it to Prague instead of Paris, where Peter is given a black Spider-Man-like costume for fighting the fire elemental that is going to attack. Along with Beck they manage to destroy the elemental, but Peter feels inadequate to be a member of Fury's team and decides that Beck should have Stark's glasses. Beck then reveals himself as a manipulator who, with a team of disgruntled other ex-Stark employees, has used holographic projectors to make the elementals and drones to do actual destruction, hidden within the projection. MJ then tells Peter that she knows he is Spider-Man and shows him a projector lost during the battle. Peter decides to go to Berlin (where he knows Fury will be) to tell him about Beck's scheme; he is however greeted by an illusion of Fury and reveals that two of his friends know about the plan, putting them in danger. Beck's illusions puts Peter on the path of a train, and the he later wakes up in a cell in the Netherlands. He escapes and calls Happy who picks him up and flies him to London where the rest of his classmates are currently visiting. Peter then fights Beck's illusion of an air elemental on Tower Bridge and eventually kills him after having recovered Stark's glasses and cancelled the attack. Back in New York, Peter starts a relationship with MJ but a sensationalist media shows faked footage of the attack framing Spider-Man and revealing his secret identity.

Red is busy fighting back the attacks of the pigs, until the day where they are both attacked by an unknown enemy throwing balls of ice. The pigs propose a truce, and Red immediately feels useless and afraid he will stop getting attention from the other birds. A delegation of pigs then debarks on Bird Island and after some convincing, a joint team is formed and leaves for Piggy Island where they get equipped and learn that their common enemy is Zeta, leader of Eagle Island and Mighty Eagle's former lover. The team then travels to Eagle Island and splits in two, one manning the eagle costume made by the pigs, the other, Red and Silver, climbing the mountain and entering by the mouth of the super weapon, before being captured and told by Zeta that she plans to fire ice balls filled with lava at both islands so that shew can leave the frozen hellhole that is Eagle Island. When Red finally agrees to let Silver lead the team, she comes up with a plan. Mighty Eagle, who had previously fled the team because he was afraid to face Zeta, comes back and is introduced to his daughter, distracting the other eagles while Silver's plan is put into action. Zeta's base is destroyed and Mighty Eagle redeems himself in the eyes of Zeta by saving their daughter. In the end, Mighty Eagle and Zeta get married on Bird Island, Red is even more beloved for being honest and selfless after crediting Silver and the whole team for their success, and he and Silver start a relationship.

In 1947, Andy gets a double life sentence for the murders of his wife and her lover, despite not having committed those crimes. In his first years in the Shawshank prison, he befriends Red, an inmate who has been there for already twenty years and who knows how to “get stuff”. Andy buys a rock hammer and a large poster of Rita Hayworth to put on his cell wall. Andy is regularly brutalized and abused by a gang of inmates, until he helps Hadley, the captain of the guards, with getting a tax exemption. From this point on, instead of working in the laundry he becomes the assistant librarian, where he can help all the guards with their tax returns. He also helps the pious but crooked warden Norton to laundry money made by using the inmates as a very cheap workforce, outbidding regular companies unless they bribe him. In 1965 Tommy, a young burglar, arrives in Shawshank. A year later, Tommy reveals he had met during a previous time in jail a man who bragged about the murders for which Andy was sentenced, but when Andy tells the warden, the latter sends him to solitary confinement and gets Tommy murdered by Hadley so as no to risk Andy telling anyone about this money laundering scheme. Soon after, the guards find Andy's cell empty, the latter having escaped through at tunnel hidden behind the poster over the past nineteen years. The following year, Red is paroled and, remembering a discussion with Andy about his dreams, violates his parole and joins him in Mexico.

Peter P. Peters is an American ballet dancer know as Petrov who practice modern jazz dancing for fun, despite the opposition of his employer, Baird. Peter falls in love with a picture of Linda Keene, a famous tap dancer who is tired of being courted by all the men she works with. After a first rebuttal, Peter overhears Linda saying she will go back to New York and arranges to board the same ocean liner with his ballet troupe. Linda warms up to Peter, but a rumor starts saying that they are perhaps married. Baird and Linda's impresario Miller create a publicity stunt taking pictures of Peter, asleep in bed with a realistic looking dummy of Linda lying next to him. Outraged, Linda decides to get maried with Jim Montgommery. Peter and Linda happen to lodge at the same hotel, causing more quid pro quo. To squelch the rumor, Linda decides they must get a divorce, for which they first need to get married, overnight in New Jersey. Linda then begins to fall in love with Peter, but then discovers him with another woman, Denise, and leaves before he can explain that Denise is actually chasing him. Peter and his ballet then organize a show where all the other dancers wear masks with Linda's face, explaining that if he cannot dance with her, he would dance with the image of her. Linda sees the show and realizes Peter truly loves her and joins him on stage.

In a world where everybody has electronic implants and self-driving cars, Grey is one of the few who lives without them and repairs old petrol cars. Accompanied by his wife Asah, he delivers a car them to Eron, the CEO of a company that builds a chip called STEM that can manage a human's motor functions. On their way back, they car is hacked, forced into an accident, Asha is murdered. Grey survives, but has become tetraplegic and depressed. He is then contacted by Eron who proposes him to become a guinea pig for STEM on the condition that it remains a secret. Grey recovers his motor functions and quickly discovers that STEM has a consciousness and can talk to him. Together, they track Asha's killers one by one, Grey letting STEM take control of his body during fights against the gangsters, who are former soldiers. While Eron tries to remotely shut down STEM, the latter directs Grey to a hacker who prevents further interference by Eron. Grey then learns that the criminals were hired by Eron and he therefore confronts him. Eron however reveals that he is not in control of the company, as STEM had taken over a long while ago and had organized the whole machination in order to be placed into a Grey's rare human body that does not have other implants. In the end, STEM kills Eron, creates a fantasy world where Asha is alive for Grey's mind to be isolated and walks out into the world as a human.

Guy, a famous tap-dancer, falls in love with Mimi, a young woman he meets on her arrival in England, but she shows no interest in him. By coincidence, Mimi hires Guy's friend Egbert, an incompetent lawyer, to divorce from her husband. As the latter refuses to give her a divorce, she has to stage an affair with a man (named Tonetti) hired by the lawyer and be “discovered” in the act in a hotel. By another coincidence, Guy is also staying at the hotel and Mimi believes him to be the man hired by the lawyer. Tonetti finds them and forces them to follow the plan and stay in the room all night, but they escape and spend the night dancing. In the morning, the husband arrives, witnesses the affair but still refuses to grant Mimi a divorce until the waiter reveals him as an adulterer, clearing the way for Mimi to get a divorce and marry Guy.

Rollo, a wealthy man, proposes to his neighbour Betsy, but she refuses. He then decides to go alone on the honeymoon cruise, and because he does not want to get up early, boards the ship the night before departure. He however boards the wrong ship, that happens to just have been sold by Betsy's father to a small country at war. Betsy's father boards the ship to get back some papers that were left onboard, just as enemy agents of that country set the ship adrift. The father is captured, and Betsy boards the ship when she hears him cry for help just before it gets cut loose. Rollo and Betsy are then stranded at sea and learn to survive with the food found in the kitchen. The ship eventually grounds itself and springs a leak near an inhabited tropical island. Using a diving suit found aboard, Rollo dives to repair the ship, but Betsy is captured by the natives. Rollo scares them of when he emerges from the ocean and brings Betsy back to the ship. The natives then attack and board the ship, Rollo and Betsy fight them back with fireworks, then escape on a dinghy that starts to sink. They are saved by a submarine that surfaces just in the nick of time.

Buster has no money and no friends. He sells his last possessions, loses most of his money and goes to New York by freight train, then decides to go to the West. He finds a job as a cow boy (for which he's not qualified), and becomes friend with a cow named Brown Eyes. When the farmer decides to sell his stock because he needs the money, he puts all the animals on a freight train headed for Los Angeles, including Brown Eyes. Buster goes on the train, hoping to save his friend. The train is stopped by the men of a neighbouring farmer who does not want the animals to be sold yet, because it would get a higher price if all farmers would sell them at a later time. Buster accidentally manages to stay alone on the train and stop it at a station in the big city. He frees Brown Eyes and, Feeling for the farmer's situation, he decides to take the cows to the stock yard, causing quite a panic in the city, but eventually manages to take all the animals to their destination. Upon learning from his men that the train has been robbed, the farmer had gone by car to the stockyard. At first there was no animal there, and suddenly it was full of them. He understands he has to thank Buster for it and tells him he can have anything; Buster asks him for Brown Eyes.

Hiccup and Astrid discover the remains of a forest encased in ice and meet dragon-trappers who tell them their boss Drago wants to capture all the dragons and make them his soldiers. They escape and warn the villagers, but Hiccup wants to reason with Drago. Instead he finds on an island a group of dragons living around an ice-spewing alpha and protected by Hiccup's long lost mother. Hiccup's father Stoick arrives with a few vikings and reunites with his wife, but they are attacked by Drago who has an alpha under his control. The two alphas fight, and Drago's wins, becoming the leader of all the dragons. Stoick is killed protecting his son when Drago orders Toothless to kill Hiccup, and the remaining vikings are marooned on the island when Drago leaves with all the dragons. But the baby dragons are immune to the alpha's power and the vikings ride them back to the village. It is attacked by Drago, but Hiccup manages to free Toothless from the alpha's power. The small dragon then fights the alpha, wins and becomes the new alpha. Hiccup then accepts to become the new chief (something his father had been pressing him to do), and all the dragon remain in the village.

Buster is a farmhand living in a small one-room house with his housemate. They have lots of mechanical devices to make their life easier (the stove doubles as a gramophone; the sofa hides the bathtub; the top of the table, where the plates are affixed, can be hung on the wall and washed with a water hose…). Both men try to win the love of the farmer's daughter, but Buster is chased by a dog he believes to be rabid. Having destroyed his clothed during the chase, he has to borrow a scarecrow's clothes. Buster then accidentally kneels in front of the girl who believes he is proposing marriage. They steal a motorcycle and while being chased by Buster's roommate and the girl's father, the scoop up a priest and are married while riding the motorcycle.

Buster is a cinema projectionist and wannabe detective. After giving a box of chocolates to his sweetheart, he is framed by the “local sheik” who had stolen the girl's father's pocket watch and pawned it in order to buy a larger box of chocolates. Buster, being found with the pawnshop's slip in his pocket is banished from the girl's home. He later falls asleep during a projection and dreams he walks into the film through the screen. He then dreams himself as a detective, Sherlock Jr., investigating the theft of a pearl necklace. The thief and the butler attempt to kill Sherlock with poison, traps and an exploding 13 pool ball. When all attempts fail, they escape and are tracked down by Sherlock to a warehouse, where he saves the girl (who had been kidnapped) and recovers the necklace with the help of his assistant. When Buster wakes up, the girl tells him that she had found out the identity of the real thief (by asking the pawnbroker to describe the man who brought the watch), and he finally kisses her.

After Superman's death and to protect the US from future metahuman threat, Amanda Waller forms Task Force X, a task force of six incarcerated supervillains coerced into working for the government by implanting them with nanite bombs. Waller already has a hold on Enchantress, a sorceress who possesses the body of archaeologist June Moone, by physically controlling the heart of the sorceress. Enchantress however manages to escape Waller's control, conquer Midway City and summon her brother Incubus to destroy humanity. Task Force X is joined by Rick Flag who is in love with Moone, and his associate Katana. Their first target is to extract Waller from her HQ in the middle of Midway City and cover up her involvement with Enchantress. Meanwhile Joker, lover of Task Force X member Harley Quinn, tries to free her from her nanite bomb, but is eventually believed to be dead. The squad then abandons Flag until he relieves them of their mission, and they then decide to prove themselves by saving the city. While some of the squad kill Incubus, Harley Quinn tricks the Enchantress into believing she wants to join her, takes her heart from her chest and destroys it, releasing Moone from her control. Waller sends the squad back to their cells with reduced sentences, but Joker comes back and frees Harley Quinn.

Thor defeats the demon Surtur in order to prevent it from destroying Asgard during the prophesied Ragnarok, takes its crown and places in Odin's vault. Back in Asgard, he finds Loki posing as Odin, and soon after takes him to Earth to find their father Loki had abducted. Thanks do Dr. Strange they find him, only to see him reveal that his first born daughter Hela will be released upon his death and die immediately after. Hela appears and chases them, causing the Bifrost Bridge to malfunction and sending them to the garbage planet Sakaar, while Hela raises her past wariors from the dead and starts a reign of terror on Asgard, wanting to regain her place in the History from which Odin had erased her, while Heimdal organises the resistance to hide the inhabitants of Asgard. On Sakaar, Thor is taken prisoner by the last of the Varkyries, now working as a thief catcher and sold as gladiator, forced to fight the Hulk (who for some reason is the grand champion) in the Grandmaster's Contest of Champions; in the meanwhile Loki becomes friend with the Grandmaster. Thor almost wins his first fight and eventually manages to convince the Hulk and the Valkyrie to help him escape and leave for Asgard in a ship stolen from the Grandmaster, after having freed the other gladiators and started a revolt. On Asgard, they fight Hela and try to but soon realize they have no chance of winning. When Loki arrives with the gladiators and a huge ship, Thor realizes that Asgard is the people, not the place, so he summons Surtur to destroy the place and Hela with it while the people escape on the ship. Thor is now king of Asgard, reconciles with Loki and takes a course to Earth.

Jake Blues is released from prison after serving three years and picked up by his brother Elwood, who forces him to visit the orphanage where they spent their childhood. They are scolded for bad behaviour by the director, Sister Mary, who also tells them that unless she pays $5,000 of due property taxes, the orphanage will be closed. They ten visit the local church where Jake has an epiphany and decides to re-form their band, the Blues Brothers, and raise money for the orphanage. They start tracking down the members of the band, while being chased by the police, by a gang of neo-Nazis and by a mysterious woman who attempts to kill them several times with ludicrous weapons. They finally manage to get a gig in a honky-tonk, pretending to be the band that was booked by the owner. As they finish and leave a tab higher than what they have earned, the legitimate band, the Good Ol' Boys, arrives and quickly becomes yet another party chasing the Blues Brothers. As the deadline for the payment nears, they persuade their old agent to book a large venue for a concert, and with the help of their friends, they advertise it, attracting a large crowd. The advertising (done partly by driving around Chicago with a large loudspeaker atop Elwood's car) attracts the police, the Nazis and the Good Ol' Boys. Having run out of gas, they arrive late and have to sneak in, but manage to perform two songs before a producer gives them a $10,000 cash advance on a recording contract. They make an escape via a service tunnel, escape the mysterious woman (Jake's ex-fiancée) and drive to downtown Chicago to the tax office, chased by the police, the neo-Nazis and the Good Ol' Boys. They escape them with a series of improbable maneuvers, and rush into the building, chased by countless policemen, soldiers, firefighters. They manage to find the correct office and pay the tax bill just before being arrested. They end up in prison, where they play for the inmates.

After the global chemical war, the only two livable regions left of Earth are the United Federation of Britain and the Colony (Australia). Poor workers from Australia commute every day to the UFB using the Fall, a gravity elevator that goes through the Earth in a few minutes. In the Colony, the Resistance seeks to improve the living conditions, and are accused by Chancellor Cohaagen of acts of terrorism. Colony worker Douglas Quaid has a depressing life and strange recurring dreams. One day he decides to get artificial memories implanted (the specialty of a company called Rekall), where he would be a spy. He reacts badly to the treatment and recovers some memory of a past life as well as amazing fighting skills, causing him to be attacked first by his wife Lori, then chased by the police's robot agents. He then gets a phone call from a former colleague who leads him to a message of himself, the address of an apartment in the UFB and the means to go there. Soon after arriving he is again chased by Lori but is saved by Melina, the woman he sees in his dreams. Hiding at the apartment, he finds another message from himself revealing that his real identity is Carl Hauser a UFB agent tasked with infiltrating the Resistance, and implanted with false memories when he went rogue. Cohaagen's plan is to invade the Colony with an army of robots that would replace the Colonists as labourer and giving the UFB more living space. He has in his memory a kill code that would disable the robots, but only Matthias, the leader of the Resistance is able to recover it. Melina then leads Quaid to Matthias who hides in the polluted wastland just outside the UFB. Cohaagen and his men then arrive, kill Matthias and reveal that there is no kill code and that the false memory was a motivator for him to locate the leader of the Resistance. Cohaagen orders Quaid's memory to be restored while he loads the Fall with his robot army. Quaid escapes before the procedure can start, a fight in the Fall ensues where Cohaagen is killed and the robots are destroyed.

In China, Newt Scamander helps a Qilin give birth, but Grindelwald's cronies kill the mother and take the newborn creature. As the mother is dying, Newt discovers the Qilin had twins, and rescues the second fawn. Grindelwald then sacrifices the Qilin to look into the future. As the Dumbledore cannot fight Grindelwald due to their blood oath, he recruits Newt, his brother Theseus, charms teacher Lally Hicks, Yusuf Kama, Jacob and Bunty, Newt's assistant. Yusuf pretends to join forces with Grindelwald, and the other go to Berlin, where they witness Grindelwald's charges dropped due to lack of evidence by the head of the International Confederation of Wizards (who is being pressured by Grindelwald's followers). Grindelwald then announces his candidacy to the office of Supreme Mugwump, and the ICW believes that losing the election will erode Grindelwald's support. Theseus is arrested under false pretenses, and while Newt rescues him from a secret prison, Jacob and Lally foil an attempt to assassinate another candidate. Grindelwald also sends Credence to assassinate Dumbledore, but he fails, and Dumbledore reveals that Credence is the son of his younger brother Aberforth; Credence then starts to question his loyalty to Grindelwald. The election of the Supreme Mugwump is held in Buthan, and the winner is traditionally chosen by a Qilin, who has the ability to read into the hearts of the people and bow in front of truly good persons. Grindelwald reanimates his dead Qilin to ensure it will select him, and all the leaders of the Wizarding world converge to Buthan. Dumbledore's team defeat Grindelwald's henchmen who, knowing they have a live Qilin, attempt to take it from them. In the meanwhile Newt walks up the stairs to the temple where the ceremony takes place, but arrives too late and Grindelwald is chosen. He immediately declares war on the Muggles. Credence, Newt and Queenie however expose his plot, and Bunty produces the surviving Qilin who first chooses Dumbledore. The latter refuses, so it chooses another candidate. Grindelwald then tries to kill Credence, but Dumbledore protects his nephew, and the fight between the two wizards somehow breaks the Blood Oath; Grindelwald flees. Later, Jacob and Queenie finally get married.

In Los Angeles, Mia is going from audition to audition trying to get a role as an actress. At the same time, Sebastian wants to open a Jazz club, but has been swindled out of his money, and cannot find a job where he could play the music he likes. Mia and Sebastian meet briefly a couple of time, being rude at each other, until they meet again during a party were Mia was invited and Sebastian plays in the band. Sebastian then seeks Mia out and they visit the Warner Bros. backlot (where she works in a café), and start dating. Sebastian encourages Mia to write her own play, while he accepts reluctantly to play in a friend's jazz fusion band, despite disliking the genre. While Mia gets closer to the premiere of her one-woman play, Sebastian is always absent, on tour and he misses the premiere (which is a failure). She then decide to go back to her parents' place in Nevada. Sebastian then receives a call from a casting director who has seen Mia's play and wants to audition her, so he drives to Nevada and convinces her to come back with him to L.A. She gets the job of writer and actress for the upcoming film, and would be away filming in Paris for many months. As they seem to have no future together, Sebastian encourages her to take the job. Five years later, Mia is a famous actress, has a husband and a small child. During a night in town with her husband, she by chance sees a Jazz bar named Seb's with a logo she had designed for Sebastian years ago. They enter and listen to Sebastian play. She then imagines how their life could have been if Sebastian had come with her to Paris. When the song ends, Sebastian and Mia exchange a smile and she leaves the club with her husband.

Frederic is an apprentice pirate in 1871, but when he turns 21 he decides to leave the crew and lead a honest life. He disembarks with his nursemaid Ruth, meets young maidens, daughters of a major-general, and falls in love with one of them, Mabel. The pirates arrive soon after and want to marry all the maidens, but the major-general lies to them about being an orphan, and, being all orphans themselves, let him and his daughters go free. But later on, the major-general regrets having lied to the pirates, and Frederic announces he has engaged the constabulary to help him defeat the pirates; the policeman however are cowards. During the night, the pirate captain and Ruth arrive and tell Frederic that his contract was until his 21st birthday, and since he's born on February 29th, he has got only five of them. In the morning, the pirates return and are chased by the policemen into the town, where they fight in the theatre. The sergeant of police convince them to surrender in the name of Queen Victoria. Ruth reveals that the pirates are all noblemen who have gone wrong, the major-general invites them to resume their position in the House of Lords, and agrees to let them marry his daughters.
